Designing digital systems for scale: Payments for Environmental Services

The objective of this report is to inform national PES practitioners, policymakers, financiers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and digital innovators about the opportunities that digital technologies can unlock. In particular, the report is a call for action to make a collective effort with a Digital Public Good (DPG) approach. This entails collectively building a modular, replicable digital system with open-source technology, open data standards, and a community of solutions for countries to choose and contribute to rather than a one-size-fits-all system.
