Launched in 2023, the Scale Accelerator is the United Nations’ programme for supporting UN teams in taking innovative solutions from pilots to widespread use, ensuring that impactful ideas reach more people and communities. Recognising that developing sustainable and scalable models for social innovation is often challenging, the programme offers an evidence-based curriculum that helps participants undertake a structured multidisciplinary approach to drive the future of their innovations.

Selected teams will be guided through a workshop journey held from 11-14 November in Finland to create strategies for scaling their innovations with a pool of experts.

The two teams with the most promising scale strategies will be awarded the Scale Catalyst Grant (USD 60,000 each) to support the implementation of their scale strategies, as well as be provided technical support and mentoring. This final phase consists of individualised support, tailored specifically for their visions and needs, to further develop their strategies, such as monitoring and evaluation, pitch development and financial management, among many other elements that constitute an ideal scaling strategy.
